What drivers do you need?
What do I need?
You only install drivers for what you need. The big three are: Audio, Network and Display.
What don't I need?
There are a few "system" devices which Windows does not need a driver -and when one installs a "driver" for it, all the installation program does is to simply change the icon shown in the device manager, and nothing more.
If you have a fingerprint reader, and never plan to use it, then there
is not much point worrying about a driver for it. That's also the same
for card readers.
What should I keep updated?
Drivers should only be updated if you are missing it, or if the older one is causing you problems. In general, the latest driver will not give you any performance improvement.
